Tamatar Ki Kadhi

Tamatar Ki Kadhi is a flavourful Jain recipe which you can serve as a main dish for a healthy feast. This is an easy-to-make main dish recipe that can be prepared with common ingredients that are easily available in your kitchen.

2 cup tomato puree
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon powdered turmeric
salt as required
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
water as required
1 teaspoon mustard seeds
7 red chilli
10 curry leaves
1 1/2 teaspoon sugar
1 cup gram flour (besan)

For Garnishing:
4 tablespoon coriander leaves

Step 1
To prepare this easy recipe, take a large bowl and mix together gram flour, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, tomato puree, salt, sugar, and water. Keep aside this bowl till further required.

Step 2
Now, put a non-stick pan on medium flame and dry roast mustard seeds in it. Then, add cumin seeds and similarly, roast them until they splutter. Now, add asafoetida, fennel seeds, curry leaves along with whole red chillies.

Step 3
Cook them until the raw aroma of chillies goes away and finally, add tomato puree, and bring it to a boil. When done, reduce the flame to low and let it simmer for a few minutes.

Step 4
When the kadhi is cooked, transfer it to a serving bowl and garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
