Celebrations anywhere in the world are incomplete without delicious food and drinks. Holi is no exception to this rule. Thus, this Strawberry Puran Poli recipe is a mouth-watering delight that will not only add flavor but also add color to your Holi menu. Made using wheat flour, all purpose flour, toor dal, black cardamom powder, strawberry puree and ghee, this main dish recipe can be enjoyed for lunch as well as for dinner and is absolutely lip-smacking.

Ingredients:
360 gm toor daal
10 gm powdered black cardamom
130 gm all purpose flour
65 gm ghee
powdered sugar as required
240 gm jaggery
360 gm wheat flour
1/2 tablespoon salt
100 ml strawberry puree

Procedure:
Step 1
To prepare this main dish recipe, wash the toor dal until running water. Add it to a pressure cooker and add enough water in it to boil the dal. Place the pressure cooker over medium flame and let the dal cook. Once done, cool slightly and strain the dal using colander /strainer. Mash the boiled lentil properly and put aside to cool.

Step 2
Now, place a deep-bottomed pan over medium flame and melt ghee in it. Put the mashed lentil in the heated ghee and stir it continuously till it turns into paste. Next, add jaggery and cardamom powder in the lentil paste and mix it well till the mixture becomes thick in consistency. Once done, take it off the flame and let it cool.

Step 3
For the dough, take a large bowl and mix together wheat flour, all purpose flour, black cardamom powder and salt. Pour water and strawberry puree in it. Knead it in the form of a soft dough. Now, take small portions from this dough and shape them like balls. Make small hole in the center of each ball and stuff it with dal mixture. Close the balls and roll the balls out in a disc shape. Repeat this with the entire dough.

Step 4
Next, place a frying pan over medium flame and add the raw poli on it. Let it cook and apply ghee on one side. Flip it over to other side and apply ghee on that side as well. Let it cook on both sides until it become crispy and golden-brown in color. Repeat this with all the polis. Place them on a plate and serve with kadhi to enjoy!
