Spinach and Sweet Potato Bombs


Spinach and Sweet Potato Bombs is a unique twist given to the potato balls and is a crispy delight loved by all. This snack recipe is made with the combination of sweet potatoes and spinach, seasoned with spices, that feels like a flavorful explosion in the mouth. It is a simple recipe that can be prepared with a few ingredients and can be enjoyed by people of all age groups.

4 sweet potato
2 onion
2 teaspoon thyme
4 teaspoon chilli flakes
2 tablespoon lemon juice
1/2 cup refined oil
2 cup spinach
8 cloves garlic
4 teaspoon oregano
2 teaspoon black pepper
salt as required

Step 1
Start by boiling the sweet potatoes in a vessel with enough water to cover these over medium flame. Once they are boiled, peel the sweet potatoes and keep them aside to cool. Meanwhile, place a pan over medium flame and add oil in it. Meanwhile, chop the garlic, onions and spinach leaves finely. Once the oil is hot, add garlic and onions in it. Saute for a while until they become soft and mixture turns aromatic.

Step 2
Now, add the chopped spinach leaves along with red chili powder, chili flakes, thyme, oregano and black pepper. Saute for a while until the ingredients are combined well. Next, add the boiled sweet potatoes and season with salt as per your taste. Let the potatoes cook for a moment and mash the sweet potato mixture, using a masher or spatula. Once done, remove from heat and keep aside for cooling.

Step 3
Make small balls out of the spinach-sweet potato mix and keep them in a plate. Now, place a pan over medium flame and add refined oil in it. Once hot, fry the potato balls in the oil until they turns crisp and golden brown in color. Now, place the fried bombs in a plate lined with absorbent paper to soak up the excess oil. Serve these hot with some tangy dip to enjoy!
