Spinach-and-Corn-Dhokla

Bored of the regular dhokla? Try this Spinach and Corn Dhokla recipe which will beat all the other ones. This is an exceptional snack recipe that can fill your stomach easily. All you need to prepare this easy recipe is: Semolina, American corn kernels, spinach leaves, and yoghurt along with a few other ingredients.

Ingredients:
200 gm semolina
10 leaves spinach
salt as required
30 gm mustard seeds
1/2 tablespoon ginger paste
1 handful curry leaves
20 gm split black gram
100 gm yoghurt (curd)
150 gm American corn kernels
1 pinch fruit salt
2 tablespoon vegetable oil
1/2 tablespoon crushed to paste green chilli
30 gm sesame seeds

Procedure:
Step 1
Add water to curd to make buttermilk. Add this buttermilk to semolina to make a pouring consistency batter. Let the batter rest for 15 minutes.

Step 2
Meanwhile, blanch the spinach leaves and prepare a smooth paste. Boil American corn kernels and make a coarse paste in the chilly cutter. Add spinach and corn paste into the batter after 15 minutes. Add salt to taste . Add chilly-ginger paste to the batter and mix well.

Step 3
Now in a small frying pan, add cooking oil to prepare the tempering for the batter. When the oil is heated, add mustard seed, sesame seeds, chopped curry leaves, and split black gram lentil. Put this mixture in the batter along with a pinch of fruit salt and stir well.

Step 4
Put this mixture in a deep plate and cook the mixture with steaming process. Once the plate of the mixture is cooked, let it release all the steam and then cut into small pieces for serving. Serve it with coriander and mint chutney.
