This North Indian cuisine is ideally served as a main dish with baingan ka bharta, curd and pickle.

2 cup roasted chana dal

For Filling:
5 cloves grated garlic
1 inch grated ginger
2 teaspoon chopped coriander leaves
1/2 teaspoon thymol seeds
1 teaspoon dry mango powder
2 medium finely chopped onion
3 chopped green chilli
2 teaspoon lime juice
2 pinches salt
2 teaspoon mustard oil

For Dough:
3 cup wheat flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoon ghee

Step 1
For preparing the filling for this yummy and tangy paratha, mix all the ingredients with roasted chana dal and add one or two tablespoon water to make the stuffing moist, so that it’s easy to fill.

Step 2
Now, for preparing the dough, knead wheat flour, ghee, salt and required amount of water to make a soft dough out of it. For making the Sattu paratha, divide the dough into small portions and make it into round shape.

Step 3
Place a portion of the Sattu mixture (approx two tablespoon) in the middle, enfold the filling and pinch off the excess dough. Then roll out the paratha.

Step 4
On medium flame, heat a tawa or flat pan and cook the paratha by applying oil/ghee evenly till both sides are cooked, and are golden brown in colour. Serve it hot with baingan ka bharta, curd and pickle.
