As the name suggests, Rajasthani Mirchi Vada is a traditional dish of the land of camels and deserts. This snack recipe is made using green chillies and besan.
8 green chilli
1 cup gram flour (besan)
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup refined oil
2 pinches powdered turmeric
For making this spicy dish, you must use the long green chillies and not the regular ones. Slit the green chillies, remove seeds and keep aside. Now, boil potatoes with salt and mash them well after peeling them. Then, add chilli powder and coriander leaves to the potatoes and mix well.
Make a thick batter with the flour, turmeric powder and salt and fill the chillies with the potato mix.
Dip the filled peppers in the batter till they are completely covered and fry them in preheated oil till golden brown. Serve hot with chutney, onion rings, beaten curd or the accompaniments of your choice.
