Oatmeal and Onion Roti


Oat Meal and Onion Roti is a delectable dish that is absolutely crunchy and will become a favorite among the foodies. Made using rolled oats, whole wheat flour, carom seeds, salt, virgin olive oil, onion, carom seeds and coriander leaves, it is a mouth-watering main dish recipe that can be savored for lunch as well dinner. You can serve this Fusion recipe with a gravy of your choice or it can go very well with raita as well.

250 gm rolled oats
5 gm carom seeds
5 gm coriander leaves
10 ml virgin olive oil
400 ml water
500 gm whole wheat flour
10 gm salt
40 gm chopped onion
3 gm powdered turmeric

Step 1
To prepare this main dish recipe, take a large bowl and mixed together rolled oats, whole wheat flour, salt, carom seeds, coriander leaves, virgin olive oil, turmeric powder and chopped onions. Now, pour water in it and knead a soft dough. Once done, cover it with a wet cloth for 10 minutes and set it aside.

Step 2
After 10 minutes, divide the dough into 17 equal balls of 70 grams each. Using a rolling pin, roll each ball into a 6-inch round bread. Once done, cook these in a tandoor until you see the dough rising. When the rotis turns golden brown in color, take these out from the tandoor. Place them on a platter and serve hot with a gravy of your choice!
