Mixed Sprouts Sandwich is a fusion sandwich recipe filled with mixed sprouts and various veggies. Having a protein based filling, this scrumptious Sandwich is a nutritious snack and is perfect to be used as kids lunch box recipe. Rich in fibre and proteins, this healthy recipe is also suggested for people looking forward to weight loss. You can prepare this easy sprouts recipe in minutes for lunch and even dinner. You can also carry this healthy sandwich to work as it is non-messy. It is important to make the sprouts properly because they often get spoilt in hot and humid weather. Keep them covered with a moist cloth at a dark place and once they sprout well, refrigerate them. You can also add some hung curd to the sprouts for that creamy feel.

Ingredients:
1 1/2 cup soaked mixed sprouts
8 bread slices
1 teaspoon refined oil
2 tablespoon ghee
1 sliced tomato
1 1/2 cup water
1 dash oregano
4 chopped green chilli
1 teaspoon wheat flour
3 pinch salt
1 sliced onion
1 cup chopped coriander leaves
1 medium capsicum (green pepper)
2 pinches chilli flakes

For Seasoning:
1 dash oregano
2 pinches chilli flakes

For The Main Dish
1 sliced tomato
1 sliced onion

Procedure:
Step 1
To prepare this healthy sandwich, take a pan and add 1 1/2 cup of water in it. Heat it over high flame and bring to a boil. Soak the sprouts in this boiled water for about 15 minutes and drain well. Mix in salt with the sprouts and grind to a coarse paste in a jar.

Step 2
Now take a wok and heat little oil in it over moderate flame. Add the ground sprouts paste in the wok and stir-fry it for a while. Mix the wheat flour in little water and add it to the same wok. Stir-fry for a minute or two and remove.

Step 3
To prepare the green chutney, combine coriander leaves, green chillies and little salt in a blender and grind to a fine paste. Spread this green chutney on the bread slices. This will add a great flavour to the sandwiches. Now spread a layer of ground sprout paste evenly (on top of the green chutney) on 4 slices and cover with the remaining slices.

Step 4
Heat a tawa over medium flame and place the prepared sandwiches to toast them. Apply little ghee around the edges to make the sandwiches crispier. Cook for a minute on both sides and remove. If you don’t have a tawa, you can also place them on a sandwich maker and cook.

Step 5
Healthy and delicious mixed sprouts sandwich is ready to eat. Sprinkle oregano and chilli flakes on the sandwiches to give it a more yummy taste. Serve with tomato ketchup and enjoy the little spicy taste of this yummy sandwich.
