The Indian launch of the Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 is still a week away, but its brochure has leaked online, revealing its design partially and all of its specifications.

The Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 employs a 249 cc single-cylinder, oil-cooled, 4-valve, SOHC engine that makes 26.5 PS of power at 9,000 rpm and 22.6 Nm of torque at 7,500 rpm. The engine is paired with a six-speed gearbox. In comparison, its closest rival, the Honda CBR250R, features a 249.60 cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, 4-valve, DOHC motor that makes 26.5 PS at 8,500 rpm and 22.9 Nm of peak torque at 7,000 rpm. The Yamaha Fazer-25, on the other hand, draws 20.9 PS at 8,000 rpm and 20 Nm at 6,000 rpm from a 249 cc single-cylinder, air-cooled, 2-valve, SOHC powermill. All three models benefit from a fuel-injection system.

In terms of styling, the motorcycle features a full-fairing design that is accompanied by muscular styling and sporty ergonomics. The fascia includes a full-LED headlight, a windscreen to offer protection against windblasts and fairing mounted rear-view mirrors. The cockpit isn’t visible in the leaked photographs, but it will most definitely feature a fully-digital instrument console that will be similar to the unit of the 155 cc Gixxer range.

Clip-on style handlebar performs the steering duties and offers forward leaning, sportier ergonomics. A 12-litre fuel tank follows the cockpit and features a muscular design with pronounced recesses to lock in the knees while cornering.

The Gixxer SF 250 uses a split-style, step-up seat that enhances its sporty looks. The design of the pillion grab rail neatly merges with the lines of the rear panel to give the upcoming quarter-litre motorcycle clean look from the sides. The tail section includes a LED tail light with the rear blinkers positioned closer to the number plate. The leaked brochure also reveals a Gixxer 155-style twin exhaust with chrome tips and heat shield.

The Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 tips the scales at 161 kg (kerb). Disc brakes on both wheels provide the stopping power, while the safety net includes dual-channel ABS as standard. Telescopic, coil sprint, oil-damped front forks and swing-arm type, mono suspension at the back perform the shock absorption tasks. The motorcycle rides on 110/70R-17M/C front and 150/60R-17M/C rear radial tubeless tyres. Expect the motorcycle to arrive in the INR 1.50-1.70 lakh (ex-showroom) price range.
