Khas Khas Ka Halwa


Halwa is super easy and simple North Indian recipe which is served in almost every festival and special occasions. It is one of the most preferable desserts. Khas Khas halwa is one such recipe which is prepared using milk, poppy seeds, almond, green cardamom and sugar which makes it a perfect treat for your loved ones. It is garnished with chopped cashew, almonds, raisins and powdered cardamom which increases the richness of halwa. One best thing about this recipe is that it includes Poppy seeds as its main ingredients which help in providing nutrients to our body.

1 cup sugar
3 cup milk
5 almonds
4 cashews
6 powdered green cardamom
1 cup ghee
1 cup poppy seeds
raisins as required

Step 1
To make this recipe, wash and soak the poppy seeds for 5 hours. Now, drain the excess water from it.

Step 2
Next, add the drained poppy seeds in mixture jar along with milk and blend it to make a smooth paste. Place a pan on medium flame and pour ghee in it. Once the ghee starts melting add poppy paste and roast it until it becomes brown. Transfer it to a bowl and keep it aside.

Step 3
Take a pan over medium flame, add milk and sugar in it. Simmer it until the sugar dissolve completely. Then add the poppy seed paste to it and sti to make a thick consistent paste. Add cardamom powder and turn off the flame.

Step 4
Finally, transfer the halwa to a serving plate and garnish it with chopped almonds, cashew and raisins. Serve hot.
