Chaas or buttermilk is a lip-smacking beverage recipe that you can enjoy with your lunch in summers. Prepared using sour curd, buttermilk helps you in digesting your food easily and keeps your stomach calm and cool. Here is a twisted version of chaas and is prepared using lemon and ginger juice, which further aids in cooling your stomach in summers.

Ingredients:
1 1/2 cup thick sour curd
1 tablespoon green chilli
4 cubes ice cubes
1/2 teaspoon refined oil
1/2 teaspoon red chilli
1/2 teaspoon chaat masala
2 teaspoon coriander leaves
3 cup water
1 tablespoon ginger juice
2 sprigs curry leaves
1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds
2 tablespoon lemon juice
salt as required

Procedure:
Step 1
To prepare this delicious chaas recipe, take a large bowl and add curd in it. Whisk well and then add chilled water in it in small intervals. Mix well and then add ginger and lemon juice along with salt. Stir to mix once again.

Step 2
Then, put a saucepan on low flame and heat a little oil in it for tempering. Once the oil is hot enough, add mustard seeds along with dry red chillies and curry leaves in the pan and let them crackle for a few seconds. Once done, add this tempering to the prepared buttermilk chaas.

Step 3
Next, add the ice cubes in the same bowl and garnish with a bit of chopped coriander leaves and chaat masala powder. Serve chilled in summers.
