Dhaba-style Kadhai Paneer


Paneer is the most cherished ingredient for all the vegetarians and especially in the northern India, and you can find several dishes made with this simple ingredient. Matar paneer, paneer masala, paneer tikka are some of the most popular paneer recipes that you can easily find in a restaurant, but the one dish for which you will be licking your own fingers is kadhai paneer recipe. Though, there are many ways you can make this yummy dish, but how about if you get to enjoy the mouth-watering Dhaba-style Kadhai Paneer recipe in your home.

500 gm cubed paneer
2 red chilli
1 teaspoon ginger
1 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 teaspoon garam masala
salt as required
250 gm sliced capsicum
50 gm tomato puree
10 gm butter
1 teaspoon coriander leaves
1/2 teaspoon coriander seeds
1 teaspoon chopped garlic
4 green chilli
1/2 teaspoon chilli powder
1/2 teaspoon coriander powder
250 gm sliced onion
250 gm sliced tomato
250 ml water
1 tablespoon full cream
2 tablespoon refined oil

Step 1
Heat the oil in the frying pan on medium flame and when the oil is hot enough, add the coriander seeds along with the red chillies, till they start changing their colour.

Step 2
Next, add the chopped garlic and ginger along with green chillies to the frying pan, and saute till slight brown in colour.

Step 3
Then, add in the chopped onions and saute till onions caramelises, or turns brown in colour. Now, add all the spices, and stir they release their aroma.

Step 4
Add tomatoes, capsicum and tomato puree to the pan along with a bit of water, if needed, and cook till tomatoes are tender and soft. Adjust the consistency of the gravy with water.

Step 5
Afterwards, add the salt as per your taste and stir to mix well. And then add some fresh chopped coriander leave along with butter and fresh cream to the pan, leaving a spoon full of cream for garnishing

Step 6
When the gravy is ready and simmering, add in the paneer cubes, and take off from the flames.

Step 7
Pour the dish in the serving bowl and garnish with the remaining fresh cream and fresh chopped coriander leaves.
