Carrot and Capsicum Mix Dal is an easy-to-make South Indian recipe. It is a staple food in most of the Indian households. In this recipe, the dal is pressure cooked and blended well with tempering spices, and cooked tomatoes which adds an extra flavour and smooth texture to the dish and can surely win your heart. Apart from being delicious this dish is rich in protein and is prepared without putting much effort.

Ingredients:
4 cloves finely chopped garlic
1 capsicum (green pepper)
1 small ginger
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
1 sprig curry leaves
water as required
1 teaspoon mustard seeds
1 carrot
2 tomato
1/2 teaspoon turmeric
1 cup toor daal
1 pinch asafoetida
2 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 handful chopped coriander leaves

Procedure:
Step 1
To make this delectable recipe, take a pressure cooker, add toor dal, and chopped green capsicum, carrot, tomato, turmeric, salt and water. Cook for 10 minutes.

Step 2
Next, In a pan heat oil, add cumin seeds and mustard seeds. Allow the seeds to splutter. Then add curry leaves, asafoetida, and chopped tomato to the pan. Saute well until the tomato becomes tender.

Step 3
Now, add the sauteed ingredients in the cooked dal and mix them well. Boil it for 5 minutes. Garnish it with chopped coriander leaves. Your mixed dal is ready. Enjoy the delicious meal by pairing it with hot chapatis or rice.
