The heart of the BMW G310R is a completely newly developed 313 cc liquid cooled single-cylinder engine with four valves and two overhead camshafts together with electronic fuel injection. The engine’s highlight is its backward-tilted cylinder in open-deck design with the cylinder head turned by 180 degrees, which makes it possible to keep the intake tract in front position.
The water-cooled engine produces 25 kW (34 PS/34 hp) at 9,500 rpm and 28 Nm of torque at 7,500 rpm, and sends power to the wheel via a 6-speed transmission. The BMW G310R has a top speed of 145 km/h and a fuel consumption rating of 3.3 litres/100 km (30.30 km/l) on using premium unleaded (95 RON) fuel. Stopping power comes from a 300 mm disc brake with 4-piston fixed caliper at the front and a 240 mm disc brake with single-piston floating caliper. Like all other BMW Motorrad motorcycles, the G310R is fitted with ABS as standard, 2-channel ABS to be specific.
