Bajaj V150 – New 150cc Bike Made of INS Vikrant’s Metal – Launching on Feb 1, 2016
On the day of India’s 67th Republic Day, Bajaj Auto teased a video of an upcoming motorcycle brand – Bajaj V – that will have a range of motorcycles. As a matter of fact, the Bajaj V bikes are made from the metal of the Indian Navy’s first aircraft carrier – INS Vikrant. The first bike under the new brand could be a 150cc unit, and might be called the Bajaj V150. Though, there is no official word yet the first Bajaj V bike’s name and specifications.
Power for the Bajaj V 150cc could come from the same 144.8cc, single-cylinder unit that powers the Discover 150. This engine is claimed to return 14bhp and 12.75 mated to a 5-speed constant mesh gearbox. Just like the Discover series, the Bajaj V 150 too could be built on the semi-double cradle frame.
If priced competitive, the new 150cc Bajaj bike could take on the likes of Suzuki Gixxer, Yamaha R15 and other premium 150cc bikes in India.
