Airtel has expanded its data rollover facility to its broadband customers across the country, and will carry forward unused data in a given billing cycle to the next one. The Airtel data rollover facility for postpaid mobile users was introduced in July this year as part of the company’s Project Next initiative, and came into effect from August. For broadband users, the facility is effective Tuesday itself, and is being extended to all users, irrespective of whether they have upgraded to the V-Fiber network that Airtel is heavily promoting.
The broadband subscribers of the biggest telecom operator in the country will be able to accumulate up to 1,000GB of data on their broadband connections with the rollover option. For postpaid mobile users, this limit is 200GB. However, the facility will not available for all plans, and the select plans with rollover facility will vary from circle to circle.
How this service works is rather simple. For example, an Airtel broadband user consumes 150GB of their 200GB data plan will be able to use the remaining 50GB data in the next billing cycle. So the next month, they will have 250GB available for consumption, instead of 200GB. Notably, if the user switches to a lower-priced plan, they will not be able to use accumulated data.

The company says it has 2.1 million home broadband users across the country, and claims to be the second biggest ISP for home networks.
